Daragh Carville

1969 -

Carville was born in Armagh and studied drama and film at the University of Kent. His first play, Language Roulette, was premiered by Tinderbox Theatre Company in 1996 and was subsequently performed in London, Edinburgh and New Hampshire. Subsequent plays include Dumped (Tinderbox, 1997) and Observatory (Peacock Theatre, 1999). Carville was awarded the Stewart Parker Playwright award in 1997 and the Meyer-Whitworth Prize in 1998. He was appointed Writer-in-Residence at Queen's University Belfast in 1999. He has also written a number of films, including Middletown (2006) and Cherrybomb (2009).
