Marie Jones (1)
A year in the lives of three women in rural Ulster in the 1960s. While London is blazing the trail into the Swinging Sixties, the three spinsters of Cloughmartin can only glimpse the possibilities of a new age on the silver screen at the local cinema. Pat Sharkey, a visiting smoothie out to make a fast buck, fosters their hopes. He insinuates the excitement of success, sex and modern gadgetry, but like the swinging modern age, he moves on and leaves them behind.
