Anne Devlin was born in Belfast in 1951. She won the Hennessy Literary Award in 1982 for her short story, 'Passages', which was adapted for television as A Woman Calling. Apart from her stage writing, she has also written the screenplays for 'Titanic Town', which is adapted from a novel by Mary Costello, (London, Faber & Faber, 1999), and Emily Bronte's 'Wuthering Heights'. Her short fiction is collected as 'The Way-Paver' (Faber & Faber 1986). Recipient of the Samuel Beckett Award in 1984, she won the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize in 1986.
