A play for 6 - 12 year olds.
Scaredy Cats explores children's fears of change, loss and of things that go bump in the night. Matty and Billy Phelan live in Ballyowen. Following the death of their mother, their father decides to move the family to Dublin. Matty, upset at her father's decision, hates everything to do with Dublin. Billy has been having nightmares and is scared of the dark. Frankie Kelly is from Dublin but his parents plan to move to Ballyowen. Frankie hates 'culchies' and is afraid of being picked on by the local children. When Matty challenges Frankie to a dare at Hallowe'en, things get out of hand, leading to an inevitable showdown, leaving both children and parents with a lot of sorting out to do.
