The Workhouse. Maquade's House, two years before. Lilly's Parlour.
A melodrama concerning a feud between the Lilly family and Neal Maquade. The Lilly sons are half-brothers, one a half-wit who stays in Ireland and the other in full possession of his faculties, who emigrates to America. On Maquade's behalf, a local man masquerades as the returned emigré in order to claim the Lilly family's wealth.
