Euripides
A new version of the Ancient Greek Tragedy.
The play takes place on the shores of Aulis on the eastern coast of Greece.
When Helen, Queen of Sparta, abandons her husband for the Prince of Troy a thousand ships are launched on a mission to reclaim her and to punish Troy.
Trouble ensues when the Greek fleet is becalmed at Aulis. The goddess Artemis agrees to restore the wind only if Agamemnon agrees to sacrifice his daughter Iphigenia to her. When the girl's mother uncovers the plan, however, she resolves to halt the sacrifice at any cost.
A new version of the classic Euripidean tragedy.
