Anne Barrett was born in Co Clare. Her first film, Spring Cleaning (Channel 4/RTÉ, 1986), received two international film awards, including Special Juror’s Award at the Cork film festival and was distributed in Scandanavia and mainland Europe. Her feature script, Wild Horses, is the recipient of Irish Film Board and European Media 11 funding. Both her stage plays, Shadowtackle (TEAM Theatre Co, 1990); and Chambers (Yew Theatre Co, 1995), were supported by The Arts Council. She has adapted her collection of short stories (which had been accepted by the London publishers Alison & Busby before it went into liquidation) for BBC4 and RTÉ radio drama. She now lives in Kenmare, Co. Kerry and works as a journalist and on commissioned scripts.
