Mary Halpin's first play, 'Semi-Private', won the 1982 Irish Times/Dublin Theatre Festival award for a play by a woman writer. Work for television includes 'Fair City'. Radio work includes 'Harbour Hotel' and several radio plays such as 'Do Robots Have Feelings, Too?'; 'Pam Ewing is Alive and Well' and 'Twilight' (BBC Radio 4). Halpin also co-wrote the novel 'Passion Flowers' with Sheelagh MacHugh under pseudonym Caroline D'Arcy.
