Tony Guerin grew up in Listowel, Co Kerry, where he still lives. An ex-footballer and subsequent Garda, Guerin became a novelist and playwright late in life. Plays not listed in the Irish Playography include Cuckoo Blue and Solo Run. Hummin' was the first of Guerin's plays to receive a professional production.
