Hilary Fannin

1962 -

Hilary Fannin has worked in Dublin and London for many years as an actress both on stage and in television. She was a founder member of Wet Paint Arts theatre company in 1984. Her first play, 'Mackerel Sky', was performed at the Bush Theatre in 1997. Her radio plays include 'Red Feathers' and 'Dear Exile', both broadcast by BBC Radio 4. Plays not listed here include 'Sleeping Around' (co-written with Stephen Greenhorn, Abi Morgan and Mark Ravenhill, produced by Paines Plough, London, in 1998) and 'Red Ball', which was commissioned by the Abbey Theatre's Education and Outreach Department and performed by the National Association of Youth Drama in 2004. Fannin was joint writer-in-association at the Abbey Theatre for the 2004 centenary. She wrote the TV review for The Irish Times for almost five years and she now writes a weekly column, Fiftysomething.
