Robert Goode Hogan was born in Missouri, where he was the founder and general editor of the Proscenium Press. He wrote a number of plays which have been produced in the United States and Ireland, including Saint Jane, Betty and the Beast, The Fan Club, The Old Man Says Yes!, Happy Hour, An Unsocial Socialist, Meg and Mick, and A Better Place. He has also co-authored, with Irish playwright James Douglas, at least 10 plays, including The Painting of Babby Joe and The Wild Turkey. He died in Bray, Co Wicklow.
