Bryan Delaney was born in Dublin and educated at Dublin City University and Université Paul Valéry, Montpellier, France. He was the recipient of a playwright's bursary from the Peggy Ramsay Foundation and in 2006, he was awarded the Samuel Beckett Centenary International Writer's Residency at the Centre Culturel Irlandais in Paris. His play, The Cobbler, won the 2001 International Playwrighting Competition, organised by the Warehouse Theatre, London. His most recent plays are Solemn Mass for a Full Moon in Summer and Stretching Larry. He worked at the Abbey Theatre as New Playwrights Programme Manager.
