Sylvia Cullen was born in Offaly and grew up in west Waterford. She studied drama at Trinity College Dublin and the University of Sydney. In addition to her playwriting, she has worked as an actor with Corcadorca Theatre Company and the Theatre Workshop, Edinburgh. Works not listed here include The Bee Woman (winner of a Rough Magic Women's Writing Initiative in 1992) and The Thaw, which was published by New Island Books in 2001. She has worked extensively as a drama and writing facilitator. She is writer-in-residence at St Senan’s Hospital, with Wexford County Council’s Arts Ability programme. Sylvia lives in Co Wexford.
