1893 - 1971
Born in Ros Muc in 1893, Pádraig Óg Ó Conaire spent some years at school at Scoil Éanna in Dublin. He was a travelling teacher for The Gaelic League and then spent some time working in the translation section of The Dáil. Awarded the award for best Short Story at the 1913 Oireachtas, he published novels, short stories and many translations.
