Leon Ó Broin

1902 - 1995

One of the founding members of An Comhar Drámaíochta, he fought in the Civil War in the Free State army. He was secretary to the Gaelic League and a civil servant from 1925 to 1967, becoming Secretary of the Department of Posts and Telegraphs during that time. He has numerous publications to his name, both in Irish and in English and he wrote original plays in Irish as well as translations of plays from various languages.
