James Anthony Butler

1920 -

Born in Dublin, Butler had several jobs before developing his involvement in Irish theatre. He was involved in changing the panto format in the Abbey Theatre with Tomás MacAnna and helped prepare four of the theatre's Christmas pantos in Irish. His play, The Deputy's Daughter, was produced by the Abbey in 1960.
