    Orion Productions was founded in 1957 by Phylis Ryan (see also Gemini Productions) and began by producing a revue that year entitled "Guided Mistletoe", directed by Brendan Cauldwell. They produced work at the Pocket Theatre, Ely Place, The Gas Company Theatre in Dun Laoghaire and at The Eblana. As well as new plays, Orion also produced work by contemporary American writers such as Tennessee Williams, Max Shulman, and William Inge.
