Sean O'Casey
A room in a tenement in Hilljoy Square, Dublin. Some hours elapse between the two acts. The period of the play is May, 1920.
Donal is a poet without political affiliation who shares tenement digs with his friend Seamus. The neighbours have Donal pegged as an I.R.A. man on the run. Young attractive Minnie is excited by such an exotic figure in their midst, however British soldiers are searching the tenements for insurgents.
