Darren Donohue is a playwright and poet from Newbridge, Co. Kildare. His first play Revelations was nominated for a Stewart Parker Trust Award. Darren was shortlisted for the Hennessy Literary Award for "emerging poetry" in 2010 and 2015. Commissioned by the Abbey Theatre, Home Game was presented as part of the HOME short play readings series on the Peacock stage (2013). Keep The Home Fires Burning won the Audience Choice Award at Scripts, Ireland's Playwriting Festival in the same year. In 2014, Dayshift represented Ireland at The Festival on the Crisis PIIGS at Nau Ivanow Barcelona before transferring to the Piccolo Teatro Grassi in Milan as part of the Tramedautore Theatre Festival. Plays not listed here include Voices in the Rubble produced by Crooked House Theatre Company at The Crypt in 2003; and A Bucket Full of Fire, produced by Sheer Tantrum at Smock Alley Theatre in 2012. In 2016 Darren was awarded a bursary from The Peggy Ramsey Foundation. He is currently a participant in Six in the Attic, an Irish Theatre Institute initiative.
