Deirdre Kinahan
It is the last day of school before Christmas and Rebecca’s friend Illyas doesn’t show up for the Christmas play in which they both appear as Martians! Rebecca calls to his house after school and finds that the entire family have disappeared. Determined not to miss her friend, Rebecca returns on Christmas Eve to find a little red robin fluttering through the deserted kitchen window. Rebecca believes that this robin can lead her to Illyas, and so follows him on a magical journey where leprechaun bus-drivers, historical statues, mystic monks and boisterous shoppers all guide her on her way.
