Farmer Flanagan, his wife and family have saved and economised over the years so that one of their sons might join the clergy. He eventually does so and goes on to give several years of service, but dies young. Poverty-stricken,his surviving family pin their hopes on a generious bequest. These hopes come to nothing however,and they finally learn that their priest son has bequeathed his entire estate to charity.
