  • Achoimre

A satire in which Thompson, an Orangeman, is accidently blown up by his own gun at the annual Sham Battle at Scarva. When he wakes up he finds himself in Tir-na-n-Og, the land of Gaelic-speaking mythical heroes. Suspicious of this English-speaking newcomer, the heroes decide to put him on trial. In the process they reveal the degree of their mutual ignorance and incomprehension of each other's traditions.
