John Kavanagh (4)
The hill-station of Solon on the North-Western frontier of India.
Based upon a real incident in 1920 in which a detachment of the Connaught Rangers, a regiment of the British Army with a proud tradition stretching back 200 years, decided to strike. The Connaught Rangers lay down their arms in protest against atrocities being carried out on the civilian population at home in Ireland by segments of the Crown forces stationed there at the time.
